On the road to Madrid, then the Netherlands
Today's the big day — Clara, Caspar and Colby are starting their big journey!
Our Penny and Sandra are driving them to Madrid. Also on board are six beautiful dogs from Paws Patas. In Madrid they will meet up with the Puppy Rescue Team transport, and from there all nine passengers will be going to the Netherlands.
Let the road trip begin! Safe travels, ladies, and a big thank you for doing this trip.
A big hug and thanks to the foster families of our three pups — it's been an emotional morning saying goodbye. You all did an amazing job, as usual.
Found in a campo ruin — now safe in foster
Two beautiful pups were found yesterday in a ruin in the campo.
There was a third puppy who ran off and could not be secured so far. The volunteer who found them has put food down and will be checking regularly for pup number 3. Fingers crossed that he or she can be brought to safety soon.
These two are now safe at a foster home. They were very thirsty and hungry, otherwise doing well. One girl and one boy — we will have more information for you soon.

Abandoned at Los Llanos market — now safe in foster
Yesterday morning two puppies and seven kittens were abandoned at Los Llanos market. By the time we got to our stall, there was only one puppy and five kittens. It is not fully clear if the remaining babies had already been taken by people passing by or had escaped and got lost.
The puppy — Jessica — is now safe with one of our foster families, and the kittens have been taken in by Maz Bailey.

Five pups from one litter — reunited in foster
It started with a call, early morning, about a puppy girl who was found abandoned in Limaria.
We tried to organise a foster home for her, then got news about three pups found in the lemon tree area, between Albox and Limaria. Turns out they are from the same litter — so they went to the same foster home where they were reunited.
So far so good… In the evening we received another call — another puppy girl from the same litter was found at the bins in Limaria. Poor little darling, must have been out there all day. The people who found her kindly offered to keep her safe overnight and she'll be joining her siblings today.
Two girls, three boys, all in good condition, well fed and no ticks or fleas. Possibly pointer crosses, by the look of them.
They must have come from a home, for sure. The amount of puppies that is being dumped at the moment is infuriating. What is wrong with people???? 😠
Get your dogs spayed, be responsible, instead of making innocent creatures suffer your ignorance and good-hearted people clean up your mess.
Marty — first puppy vaccine, now homed
Marty has been at the vet's for his first puppy vaccine 👏 What a goooood boy he is 😊
He's now seven weeks old, 2 kg and cute as can be ❤️ Time to start looking for his future family.
Marty is a little bodeguero type dog — very bright, lots of fun and full of love.
We're currently looking for a home locally. A secure garden and a couple of friendly and playful dog siblings would be lovely.

Abi — small fibula fracture, resting up in foster
Never a dull moment…. Our Abi has injured herself, playing with her sister. She suffered a small fracture of the fibula.
Luckily enough the vet says it's a 'good' break (no movement in it) and it should heal nicely.
She's had a pain killer / anti-inflammatory injection and her leg is strapped up. She's to be crate rested and no playing with the other dogs. Back to the vet's on Monday.

Beautiful puppy girl — settling in foster
Beautiful puppy girl, who turned up at a lady's house.
She's been at the vet's for a first check-up, and now has some time to decompress and settle with her foster family.
She met her foster brother, our Sparky, and was scared of him at first — but he's starting to win her over.
She's a sweet girl, will probably be a biggish adult. We'll keep you posted 🥰

Mummy Betty has gone home with her new family
Yesterday mummy Betty went home with her new family. She's been such a strong girl and a great mum, raising all her pups. Now it's her time to be spoiled and live the sweet life.
We were trying to get a happy adoption day picture for you but that's all she gave us 😆 🤦🏽♀️

Urgent summer appeal · Calle Málaga 4, Albox
Throughout the summer we are always short on volunteers to support the team at the Puppy Rescue Charity Shop. We urgently need more people to help out at the shop in Albox.
The situation regarding abandoned puppies in need is getting worse each year. Without the necessary funds we can't help all those pups — and our charity shop is our main source of funding.
If you have energy, time and would like to support the good cause of helping rescue puppies, we need you. Anyone who would like to join us — a morning per week, or even as holiday cover — would be very welcome and appreciated.
By volunteering in our shop you are helping to raise much needed funds to rescue, care for and rehome puppies in need.

Six siblings — now settling in foster care
Two of the six siblings who came into our care yesterday. Now settling in to their foster home.
Their mum was a stray who sought rescue at a family's house and then surprised them by having six puppies.
They helped mum raising her babies and now it's time for her to enjoy her new life, while we find her pups their future homes.

Beautiful Pointer-cross boy Frankie is waiting to find his special person 🐕
Sweet little Frankie is such a sweet boy and can run like the wind.
Due to him being an energetic hunting breed, we're looking for a family with a rather active lifestyle and a secure garden for him to run.
His mum is a smallish Pointer. Frankie has beautiful long legs, which makes him the tallest of the three pups.

Last of the rabbit warren 3.0 pups — now ready for his forever home
Magnus is the last remaining of the rabbit warren 3.0 pups.
He and his sister were the last ones to be caught, weeks after their other siblings. You could see quite a difference — while his siblings were quickly feeling comfortable around people, Magnus was terrified and always on guard.
It soon became clear that he wasn't ready for adoption but needed quite a bit of work to make him more confident and trusting. He went to Sandra, who's a very experienced foster carer and has worked wonders with more difficult cases before.
He's been with Sandra now for several months and we think he's ready to find his future home 🏡 ❤️
Some words from foster mum:
Magnus has been with us since the beginning of December and he has come a long way. As a very scared little pup he is now a loving, goofy teenager. He loves to play with my other dogs or with me. He doesn't like to go to town, as he is afraid of everything in it, but he loves his walks in nature and now jumps in the car, as he knows we are going somewhere fun.
Magnus would love to find someone that can give him love, attention and lots of time to get adjusted to his new life. Another dog(s) would be a definite plus. Cats are fine, but he does like to chase and play with them, or lick them all over.
Magnus is a beautiful Podenco cross, about five months old. He'll probably be a medium size adult. We're looking for a rural home, preferably with a couple of friendly, playful resident dogs. Initially he'll bond more with a dog than a person, so it'd be a good help for him.

It's a lot of hard work, and she does take herself for a little time out, away from the hungries, every now and then ❤️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
We are always looking for volunteers to support the team at the Puppy Rescue Charity Shop. The situation for abandoned puppies gets harder every year, and our shop is the main source of funding that keeps our rescue work going.

This beautiful, special 5-year-old boy is looking for his special human to spend his life with. He's been in foster care for a while now and deserves to find a home to call his own. 🏡🐾
Luca came to us after a traumatic time in his life. His owner suddenly died, leaving him and his best friend doggy Dag very unsure of what had happened. Luca has taken a long time to move beyond that and into the loving dog he now is. He's now a calm, gentle, loving lad who walks beautifully on a lead and loves other animals, especially cats!
He will need a home with a family that makes him feel loved, secure and has some space on the sofa left for him. His foster mum will be there for him and his new owner every step of the way for support.
